Night shift differential: at least 10% per hour, 10pm–6am

Article 86 of the Labor Code: every employee shall be paid a night shift differential of not less than ten percent (10%) of the regular wage for each hour of work performed between 10:00 in the evening and 6:00 in the morning.

Example: Ana's shift, 9pm to 6am

Illustrative example only. Daily rate ₱700.00 for 8 hours, so the hourly rate is ₱87.50. Ana works 9:00pm–6:00am with a 1-hour meal break at 2:00am — 8 hours of work, 7 of them between 10pm and 6am.

Item How Amount
Basic pay 8 × ₱87.50 ₱700.00
Night differential 7 × ₱87.50 × 10% ₱61.25
Total for the shift ₱761.25

⚠️ Tandaan. Count only the hours actually worked inside 10pm–6am. If the shift runs past 8 hours, overtime is at least +25% of the regular wage (Art. 87) — keep a timesheet so the hours are easy to check.
