GOOD TO KNOW — delete this page before sending

• The notice period comes from your appointment letter or company policy. Check it before you write the last date.

• Keep a copy of your resignation with the date you sent it (email is fine). The notice period runs from that date.

• Ask for the relieving letter and experience letter in writing; your next employer may need them at joining.

• Under the Code on Wages, 2019 (in force from 21 November 2025), wages due on resignation are paid within two working days of resignation — s.17(2). Gratuity, if you are eligible, has its own rules.

• In Layers you can send the letter with tracking: you see when HR opened it and you keep the dated record.
