HOW TO FILL IN THIS QUOTATION
---
Yellow = type here · Orange = sample rows, overwrite or delete · Blue = calculated
■ Quotation (with GST) — for GST-registered businesses
1. Type your business name, address, GSTIN and PAN at the top and choose your state from the list.
2. Fill in the customer block. Enter the customer GSTIN if they are registered (they may need it for input tax credit later).
3. Choose the place of supply. If it is your own state, CGST and SGST (UTGST in a union territory without a legislature) are shown
at half the rate each; if it is another state, IGST is shown at the full rate. The rule for the place of supply depends on the
transaction — for goods it is usually where delivery ends; check the IGST Act if unsure.
4. For each line: description, HSN (goods) or SAC (services) code, quantity, unit, rate, discount % and the GST rate for that code.
5. The validity date = quotation date + days valid. Change the number of days to what you want to offer.
6. Type the amount in words, check the terms, add bank or UPI details, sign and send as PDF.
■ Quotation (no GST) — for freelancers, tutors and small traders not registered under GST
• Do not show or collect GST if you are not registered. Use this sheet instead.
■ Good to know
• A quotation is an offer, not a tax invoice. Issue a GST tax invoice when you supply the goods or services.
• GST rates change by notification. The sheet accepts any rate from 0% to 40%; confirm the current rate for each HSN/SAC
on the CBIC GST portal (cbic-gst.gov.in) or with your tax adviser before you quote.
• Keep the quotation number in a register so the order, invoice and payment can be matched later.
• If you send the quotation from Layers, you can see when the customer opened it, remind them before it expires,
and let them accept it by signing with a code from their email.
