For [Your name], UAN [UAN]. New EPF Scheme 2026: the old 2-month rule no longer applies to most people.

1. What you need

☐ An active UAN, and a phone linked to your Aadhaar.

☐ Aadhaar, bank account and PAN on the member portal.

☐ Your date of exit on the portal: without it a final claim will not go through.

☐ Your e-nomination filed.

2. The form

– Old names: Form 19 for full withdrawal, Form 31 for part withdrawal, Form 10C and 10D for pension. The 2026 Scheme does not use them: you claim on the portal.

3. Your application

– Part withdrawal: 25% of the contributions, with interest, stays in your account.

– Full withdrawal ends your membership. If you join again you are a fresh member.

– Moving to a new employer? A transfer to your new account is not taxed.

4. Where to file

– Member portal: unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in.

– If you cannot claim online: a paper claim through your employer.

– Complaints: EPFiGMS or UMANG, with OTP. Helpline 14470.

5. Time limits

– Left your job: full withdrawal after 12 months without work. The Labour Ministry says 75% can be taken at once.

– No wait: retirement after 55, retrenchment, permanent move or job abroad, total incapacity.

– Pension part: after 36 months from the last contribution.

– A complete claim is paid within 20 days. After that, interest at 12% a year.

– Tax: under 5 years of service, TDS of 10% on Rs 50,000 or more, unless an exemption applies.

6. Keep it and renew

– Keep the claim number, amount and date.

– Keep your Form 121 and TDS details.

– Keep your EPFiGMS complaint number.
