New hire: your employer must report you to SSS right away

Section 24(a) of the Social Security Act of 2018: each employer shall immediately report to the SSS the names, ages, civil status, occupations, salaries and dependents of all employees under compulsory coverage.

If a covered employee dies, gets sick or disabled, or reaches 60 and the SSS never received a report about him, the employer pays the SSS damages equal to the benefits the employee would have been entitled to.
