UK visitor visa: £135, apply up to 3 months ahead

GOV.UK lists the Standard Visitor visa at £135 for a stay of up to 6 months. The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel, and you'll usually get a decision within 3 weeks once you've applied, proved your identity and provided your documents.

If a sponsor pays for your travel, maintenance or accommodation, the UK guide asks for evidence of what support is given, how it is given, and that the person supporting you has enough funds to support themselves and their dependents too.

Illustrative. Trip on March 15, 2027: the earliest application date is December 15, 2026. Family of three: 3 × £135 = £405.
