Alpine 3.22: end of support May 1, 2027

The Alpine release page lists v3.22 with end of support on 2027-05-01 and v3.23 on 2027-11-01. Both show support level main only.

The rule on that page: the main repository is typically supported for 2 years, and the community repository until the next stable release. v3.24, branched 2026-06-09, is listed as main and community until 2028-06-01.

Example

Illustrative. 12 images: 7 pinned to 3.22, 5 to 3.23. The 3.22 images reach end of support first, so they move first. Community packages on both are already outside the support level listed.

Important

A floating tag can hide the real version. Check what the image actually contains, not only the FROM line.

Audit

  • ☐ Grep FROM lines for alpine
  • ☐ Read /etc/alpine-release in running images
  • ☐ List packages from community
  • ☐ Name an owner per image
