Django 6.0: extended support ends April 2027
The Django download page lists mainstream support for 6.0 as ended on August 4, 2026. Extended support, meaning security fixes and data loss bugs, runs to April 2027.
| Series | End of extended support |
|---|---|
| 6.0 | April 2027 |
| 6.1 | December 2027 |
| 5.2 LTS | April 2028 |
| 6.2 LTS, due April 2027 | April 2030 |
Example
Illustrative. Three services on 6.0, about a week each. Move one a month from January, with a test run in staging for each, and you finish in March.
Important
The numbering changes too: starting with Django 2028, feature releases use the format YYYY and come out every January, and each gets the same three-year support period.
